Ammon Cunningham Blogs About Monument Valley

June 21, 2017
Travel enthusiast and prolific blogger Ammon Cunningham was born and raised in Utah, so he thinks of it as home, but he is also aware that the state has a lot more to offer travelers than many let on. His home state features some of the most incredible travel destinations in the United States and the world. For example, one of the greatest places to visit is Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.

Monument Valley is part of the massive 27,000-square-mile Navajo Indian Reservation, which covers parts of three states. However, most of Monument Valley is in Utah. This area is special because it is highly recognizable because its gorgeous natural features have been featured in many films and TV commercials over the course of the last century or so.

Among the most striking features that have been seen worldwide include Monument Valley’s phenomenal red mesas, buttes, and the surrounding desert. In particular, Ammon Cunningham strongly recommends that travelers check out the Valley Drive, a long dirt road that winds through the most scenic areas of the park. Tourists can venture off Valley Drive, but only with a guide. This is wise, since you are in the middle of a very unforgiving desert that can get very hot during the day and very cold at night. Luckily, Ammon Cunningham notes that a guide is easy to arrange through the Monument Valley Visitor Center, located near the park entrance.
